Owaisi Calls for Immediate Arrest of Yati Narsinghanand
Hyderabad, Oct 5 (PV News) – Asaduddin Owaisi, President of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM), has demanded the immediate arrest of Yati Narsinghanand Saraswati for making blasphemous remarks against Prophet Mohammad. He urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take swift action to address the hurt caused to the sentiments of Muslims.
Speaking to reporters after meeting Hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand, Owaisi emphasized that PM Modi, who advocates for “sab ka sath sab ka vikas,” should demonstrate his commitment by taking action against Narsinghanand, a priest based in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.
Owaisi criticized the Prime Minister, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and the BJP for not acting against Narsinghanand and others who use derogatory language about the Prophet, stating that such inaction could tarnish India’s international reputation. He alleged that Narsinghanand’s actions appeared to be premeditated and suggested that he enjoys support from the Yogi Adityanath-led government.
“These individuals are undermining the nation and violating the Constitution,” Owaisi remarked.
A delegation of AIMIM MLAs and MLCs, led by Owaisi, submitted a written complaint to the police commissioner, alleging that Narsinghanand incited another community to burn an effigy of the Prophet, an act that has generated significant outrage.
The AIMIM leaders called for the Hyderabad Police to send a team to Uttar Pradesh to apprehend Narsinghanand and bring him to Hyderabad. Following their complaint, the police commissioner ordered a senior officer to register a case with the cyber cell regarding the matter.
Owaisi and the AIMIM expressed serious concerns over Narsinghanand’s provocative statements, highlighting their potential to disturb communal harmony. They urged authorities to take strict legal action against him for his inflammatory remarks and to prevent further escalation of communal tensions. Owaisi described Narsinghanand’s comments as “derogatory, obnoxious, and highly condemnable” against the Prophet Mohammad.
