2,367 Killed, 11,088 Injured by Israeli Airstrikes in Lebanon: Health Ministry
Beirut, (Patriotic views desk) The Lebanese Health Ministry reported that 2,367 people have died, and 11,088 have been injured as a result of Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon since the conflict between Hezbollah and Israel began on October 8, 2023.
On October 15 alone, Israeli airstrikes killed 17 people and injured 182 in various areas of Lebanon. According to the Health Ministry, in southern Lebanon, three people were killed and 92 were injured. In the Nabatieh governorate, nine people were killed and 49 were injured. In the Bekaa Valley, five people were killed and 26 were injured, while 15 people were wounded in the Baalbek Hermel governorate.
Since September 23, the Israeli army has launched intense airstrikes on Lebanon, escalating the conflict with Hezbollah. The fighting between Hezbollah and Israel has increased since October 8, with both sides exchanging fire across the Lebanese-Israeli border. This has raised concerns of a larger conflict as the war between Hamas and Israel continues in Gaza.
Israel’s current aerial campaign has escalated from previous cross-border clashes between Hezbollah and Israel, which have been ongoing since the start of Israel’s offensive on Gaza. According to reports, Israel’s actions have resulted in the deaths of over 42,400 people, many of whom were women and children, following a Hamas attack last year.
Despite international warnings of a potential regional war, Israel expanded the conflict by launching a military incursion into southern Lebanon on October 1.
