Hezbollah Rockets Hit Haifa, Causing Casualties

Oct 7, 2024

Jerusalem, Oct 7 (Patriotic views Desk) – On Sunday night, Hezbollah fired rockets at an Israeli military base near the northern city of Haifa, resulting in casualties. Hezbollah stated the attack was in response to Israeli strikes that targeted civilians in Lebanon.

In its statement, Hezbollah said they launched a series of “Fadi 1” missiles at the Carmel military base, located south of Haifa. The group, referring to itself as the “Islamic Resistance,” declared it would continue defending Lebanon and its people against Israeli attacks and aggression.

According to the Israeli military, sirens were heard in the upper Galilee region late Sunday night, warning of incoming rockets from Lebanon. Around 15 projectiles were detected crossing the border. Some of these rockets were intercepted, while others landed in the area, as reported by Xinhua news agency.

Several casualties were reported due to the rocket strikes in Haifa and the nearby city of Tiberias, according to Israeli media. Israel’s emergency medical service, Magen David Adom, confirmed that one person in Tiberias was injured by the rocket barrage from Lebanon. Additionally, at least eight people were taken to Rambam Health Care Campus in Haifa for treatment after the attack.

This escalation comes amid rising tensions between Israel and Hezbollah. Since September 23, the Israeli military has been intensifying its attacks on Lebanon, leading to a dangerous escalation in the conflict with the Hezbollah militant group.
