Jammu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a large BJP rally at M.A. Stadium, emphasizing the significance of the 2016 surgical strikes as a demonstration of India’s capability to act decisively within enemy territory. He stated that these actions have sent a clear message to the “mentors of terrorism” about the consequences of future attacks.
Recalling the surgical strikes carried out in response to the Uri terror attack, Modi criticized the Congress for questioning the military’s actions, asserting that the party had historically neglected the defense forces. He claimed that the Congress, National Conference (NC), and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) are out of touch with the needs of Jammu and Kashmir, emphasizing the BJP’s commitment to eliminating corruption and discrimination.
Modi reassured the people of Jammu that under a BJP government, they would experience unprecedented opportunities for development, including new industries and improved infrastructure. He highlighted ongoing projects, such as the Jammu ring road and enhancements to local transportation and healthcare facilities.
The Prime Minister reiterated his commitment to restoring Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood and promised significant benefits for local communities, including the empowerment of women and increased job opportunities. He urged voters to support BJP candidates in the upcoming elections, which are set for October 1, with results to be announced on October 8.
